Beaches
Southwest Florida has some of the finest beaches in all of Florida. They are known for their fine sand, gradual slopes and gentle surf, making them ideal for all kinds of beach activities. Some of the most popular beaches are located in the communities of Fort Myers, Naples, Marco Island and Bonita Springs, as well as Sanibel & Captiva Islands.
Cape Coral boasts its own intimate beach on the shores of the Caloosahatchee River – approximately 5 mintues drive form the villa. Perfect for a spot of sunbathing or a walk along the picturesque pier.
The tropical island paradise of Sanibel and Captiva are only a twenty minute drive from the villa. Featuring miles of pristine white-sand beaches, you will also find some of the best shelling beaches around, along with great biking and hiking trails and many acres of wildlife sanctuaries to explore.
Fort Myers beach is located at the north end of Estero Island approximately 20 minutes from the property, here you will find a casual beach village with shops and restaurants, but go further south along the coast and you will come to Lover Key State Park - one of four barrier islands it provides a haven for wildlife.
The islands and their waters are home to the West Indian manatees, bottlenose dolphins, roseate spoonbills, marsh rabbits, and bald eagles. The two mile long beach is accessible by boardwalk or tram and is popular for shelling, swimming, picnicking and sunbathing.
Whether you just want to sun bathe and relax on the white-sands or have a go at one of the many water sports on the beach such as jet-sking or paragliding, or even try your hand at fishing off the pier down at Fort Myers beach, there is something for every member of the family.
